Enlighten your way to mindfulness this 2024


 A new chapter, a new resolution, a happy new year

What makes a happy new year? What is your happy place? You see life is like a jigsaw puzzle. We are trying to fit pieces to create that perfect picture but something is always missing. This year you can make that perfect picture by bringing light into your life and enriching yourself with the power of positivity. It is time to prioritize your health goals the right way both mentally and physically. 

Do you feel stressed? if the answer is yes, keep in mind that you are not alone...many people experience stress but cope with it in different ways and if you are wondering how to manage your stress, then you have come to the right place.

Is there a way we can manage stress? Of course! your emotions are under YOUR control. Here are a few things I incorporated into my life this past year which helped me become a more optimistic and mindful person 

1. Sitting out in the sun and going out for a stroll allows you to immerse yourself with the beauty around you

2. Breathing exercises such as "pranayama" help strengthen the connection between the body and mind. 

3. Writing your feelings in a journal, You could write about what you have done through out the day

4. Surrounding yourself with people who bring out the best in you. Those who encourage you to grow and boost your confidence

5. Having a good balanced diet and stay hydrated...as the saying goes "good food is good mood"

6. Having adequate amounts of sleep...experts say that it is necessary to have 7-9 hours of sleep in order to reduce stress and improve your mood

7. Letting go- Well, Rome wasn't built in a day so letting go of the past is a skill to master, which does take time and practice. When there is something that is not in your control avoid dwelling on it. You need to simply accept the situation and move on then only you will find your happy place. Just take a deep breath

8. Learning to say the big NO, Ok Folks!! Firstly, we are not robots just humans. Secondly, we only live once so saying no won't cost you. While we are busy trying to fulfill other people's wishes, we often forget about ourselves. So make a stand.....Think Smart and Act Smart!!!

Many people want to live a stress-free life, but stress is inevitable, it will occur in any phase of your life. It is a natural tendency to stay away from situations that lead to frustration and that is because the word "STRESS" is often associated with something negative however it is not always bad. Stress can sometimes motivate you, it can allow you to focus on the good and enhance your performance. 

As we ring into the new year lets change the perception of stress into something positive

T: Think

R: Relax

E: Eliminate

S: Senseless

S: Situations
